ESSAY ON: Everyday Lies

Number of Pages 16

This research paper: A 16 page research paper that explores the psychology of lying. In recent years, social scientists have begun to explore this topic, why people lie and to whom. This research suggests that lying is not only a common occurrence, but an integral part of social relations. Without everyday lies, the little lies, the "fibs" that people say to be polite, the social wheels of personal interaction would undoubtedly grind to a halt. However, in today's ever-increasingly complicated world, it becomes more and more imperative to be able to tell who is lying and to understand why. Therefore, a considerable body of research has also been devoted to developing guidelines for lie detection. This research examines what is known about lying -- who lies, who they lie to, why they lie and how to detect the liar. Bibliography lists 20 sources.
