ESSAY ON: Importance Of Head Start Programs

Number of Pages 8

This research paper: 8 pages in length. The academic deficit incurred by poverty level children is a social ill that follows them throughout their entire lives. If not provided with an intervention whereby a solid education is received and self-esteem is established, the stigma attached to illiteracy is often an insurmountable struggle to overcome. Head Start gives that chance to children of poverty who do not have the same academic opportunities as the rest of society; by starting early and going in strong, Head Start provides the basis upon which needy children can gain a stronghold of educational readiness that can make the difference between growing up a delinquent or contributing member of society. Bibliography lists 11 sources.
