This research paper: A 9 page paper critiquing a 2000 study of gender differences in recovery from cardiac surgery. The article is highly useful to nursing practice. It is methodologically strong and provides practicing nurses with sound and practical advice for their women patients undergoing cardiac surgery. The findings of this study provide information that nurses can directly communicate to women patients in the form of warning that any delay in feelings of wellbeing is only temporary; that with time (less than three months) they will be experiencing full benefits of their surgeries; and that those benefits will not only be physical but will include a stronger sense of wellbeing as well. Bibliography lists 2 sources.
