This research paper: An 11 page research paper that examines the attitudes of crime investigators toward the use of technology. The writer argues that the introduction of new technological tools brings up the question of how investigators approach technology in their working practices. Does it cause them to become reactive in their response to a particular investigation, that is, to feel complacent that their marvelous new toys will make the crime solvable? Or, does new technology promote a proactive approach, causing the investigators to see technology as a tool that will enable them to limit the opportunities for crime? This literature review suggests that the answer to the latter question is a definitive "yes," as investigators have embraced any and all technological tools as instruments that allow them to proactively pursue goals that would otherwise not be possible. Bibliography lists 8 sources.
