ESSAY ON: McCloskey's "On Being An Atheist"

Number of Pages 5

This research paper: 5 pages in length. The uncertainty that fuels atheism was brought to the forefront of public awareness in H. J. McCloskey's literary piece entitled "On Being an Atheist." The extent to which readers were both appalled and enlightened at the same time speaks to the level of opposition in the author's arguments that parallels the degree of contest his critics dealt. Indeed, McCloskey clearly illustrated in precise detail how he believed the cosmological and teleological arguments for God's existence were sorely lacking any substantiation; rather, the culmination of his philosophy was to defiantly state how faith is too risky a venture when the supporting proof is so weak. Bibliography lists 2 sources.
