The extent to which such activities and man-made problems have placed manatees on the threshold of obsolescence is both grand and far-reaching; that man's disrespect for and indifference toward the dwindling manatee population speaks to a distinct lack of responsibility where humanity's duty as steward of the animal kingdom is concerned.
