The correlation between child abuse and subsequent emotional trauma is well documented; that the abusive cycle remains with the child into adulthood illustrates the deep-seated impact such an invasion has upon the individual. Also studied to a certain degree is the risk factors involved with therapeutic treatment applied to address post-traumatic impact.
