This research paper: On the 20th April 2010 and explosion on the Deepwater Horizon Oil Rig located in the Gulf of Mexico resulted in the largest oil spill to date, which took place over a period of three months. The disaster is examined from a quality management point of view, assessing the actions and rhetoric that emerged from BP before, during and after the disaster to assess the quality of management which was taking place within the organization and identify ways that a higher quality management of the event may have taken place.
