This research paper: A 3 page paper arguing a position on the lyrics of this Vietnam-era antiwar song as it applies to the present day. It was in the early 1970s that John Prine first released the song. Referring to Vietnam as the "dirty little war," the song maintains its relevance for today, in our post-9/11 environment where the boogey man lurks around every corner.
