A 5 page research paper that reports on the Lowell System and its significance to early industrialization in the US. The Lowell System refers to a “method of factory management” that developed in regards to the operation of the United States’ first textile mills, which were built in Waltham and Lowell, Massachusetts in the early part of the nineteenth century (Foner and Garraty, 1991). The 'simple life' of the farm has been irrevocably changed by the advent of computer based renovations. 'Precision agriculture' is the term coined to represent the new era in farming techniques. Through the use of the global positioning system, GPS, computer age farmers are able to pinpoint the position of equipment and to analyze the soil content and product potential.
