Mass transit exists for both human and environmental reasons: some people do not have cars and rely on a public system to transport them, while others refuse to use their cars when there is a cheaper, more environmental friendly way to reach their respective destinations. However beneficial mass transit is to a given community, passengers quickly lose sight when such issues as technical difficulties, budget cuts and track problems override. Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) is one of many mass transit systems throughout the country that have been plagued with schedule-interrupting challenges over the past decade, and frustrated commuters are none too pleased with its inability to effectively work them out.
