ESSAY ON: Pluralism Versus Elitism

Number of Pages 10

This research paper: 10 pages in length. The notion of 'us' and 'them' has long formed the tenets of humanity's sociopolitical ladder; whether racial, economic or status, the world is a vast network of divided societies whereby undemocratic ideals reign. Examining the prevalence of elitism compared with pluralism, while a throwback to feudalistic medieval times, leaves little question as to whether man has truly progressed as a civilized species in that he has yet to shed his elitist self-prescribed superiority and embrace a countenance of pluralism's unity. C. W. Mills spoke at length on the reality of the power elite, arguing how the exclusionary manifestation of such a stance does nothing to empower the proletariat but everything to redistribute abundance to the select few. Bibliography lists 10 sources.
