ESSAY ON: Review of Cashman’s America in the Gilded Age

Number of Pages 5

This research paper: A 5 page review of this history of the second half of the 19th century in America. Cashman’s (1994) book is one that upholds the plight of the individual who was not able to reach the pinnacle of the American Dream. Cashman (1994) condemns business and the control that it exerted over the course of the entire country. He only grudgingly acknowledges the contributions that the robber barons made to America’s present position as the world’s leading economy, but he does provide a clear view of the detriments of unbridled corporate growth when it is based on greed. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
