Number of Pages 9

This research paper: A 9 page overview of the 1972 cinematic production. The author traces the history of the film back to a play and a movie entitled “I Am a Camera” which were based, in turn, on the book “Berlin Stories” (also referred to as “Goodbye to Berlin”) by Christopher Isherwood. Set in 1931 in pre-war Berlin, these productions detail the events and circumstances surrounding a popular Berlin nightclub as to how they relate to the turmoil raging under the surface in Germany as a whole.
