This research paper: A 5 page dialectical method sermon on the parable of the prodigal son. Many Christians seems to feel that to be devout and feel that they are "good" Christians, they must assume a worldview that is a throwback to Puritanism. They see the world as extremely serious; themselves as miserable sinners who should be properly humble and contrite and they also feel that it is somehow inappropriate to show too much joy or pleasure at being alive in God's good world. Luke 15:11-24, the parable of the "prodigal son," demonstrates that this worldview goes against the express teaching of Jesus, which offers believers the message that there is reason to celebrate and no need for sorrow, as God welcomes any sinner who believes with open arms and a loving embrace.
