Paul Johannes Tillich (1886-1965), renowned German-American scholar and Christian existentialist philosophy, is considered to be--along with contemporary Karl Barth--one of the most influential Protestant theologians of the twentieth century (Paul Tillich). A prevalent theme throughout Tillich's writing is his focus on the person and work of Jesus Christ.
