According to the website for The National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, based on the 1996 U.S. Census, the vital statistic for teen pregnancy for the state of Oregon is a 90 in 1,000 chance that a girl between the age of 15 and 19 will become pregnant (Fact Sheet). The national average for this age group is 97 in 1,000. This is only one reason why this population was chosen for this study in case management.
