This research paper: This 3 page report discusses the great American, Thomas Jefferson, and the fact that he was a slaveowner. Ironically, Jefferson also claimed that the only reason that he was willing or able to "keep" slaves was because he feared that emancipation would ultimately lead to a race war. Nonetheless, his own lifestyle was dependent on his slave holdings and he wrote of the many reasons he found Africans to be inferior. Bibliography lists 2 sources.
