This research paper: A 3 page paper reviewing the state of communication between doctor and nurse in the OR and assessing changes that continue to occur. The relationship is stereotyped as being adversarial, but recent research indicates that the trend toward alliance of healthcare professionals is finding its way to the OR now as well. The state of nurse-doctor communications in the OR appears to fall on a continuum between negative and positive, and appears to be moving toward the more positive end as the issue of communication continues to gain increasing attention.
