ESSAY ON: Why Theatre Is Dangerous

Number of Pages 5

This research paper: 5 pages in length. There was once a time when going to the movie house was a pleasant and non-threatening experience. The family outing often included a couple of hours at the local theatre where audiences were entertained with a variety of films that gave people a sense of whimsy, drama, suspense or sadness; however, it was a given presumption that the images upon the big screen were meant for entertainment purposes only, which allowed the audience to remain a passive entity in the entire experience. Throughout the past couple of decades, though, there has been a distinct change in both the type of movies being made and the kinds of audiences who go to see them. The writer discusses how theatres have become centers for riotous outbreaks when films with questionable social messages are being played, with the audience taking on a decidedly more interactive role instead of the once passive part it held. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
