This research paper: 5 pages in length. As we explore the impact of Ernest Hemingway's "Soldier's Home" upon the literary world, it is important to take into account the critical impressions associated with the story in order to gain a significantly better understanding of just how intricately related Harold Krebs' problems were truly associated with his ultimate return from war. Our initial impression is that he has been cheated out of the chance to revel in the glory of being a war veteran, inasmuch as he returns home months and months after the initial veterans without anything new to say that the others have not already talked about ad nauseum. This disinterested reaction he receives from the townspeople – his parents included – compels Krebs to fabricate nearly his entire existence in order to get through what he calls a life of complications. Written in first person. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
