Number of Pages 5

This research paper: 5 pages in length. Sleep was not to be a peaceful visitor in Shakespeare's Macbeth once murder had been committed. For the primary character, sleep came to represent the epitome of mortal fear and the presence of undesirable entities. As such, the symbolic nature of sleep within the story maintains a coupled existence with Macbeth's murderous plot and comes back full circle to torture him for this very act.
