Number of Pages 4

This research paper: 4 pages in length. Germans first established themselves upon American soil in 1683 when Germantown, Pennsylvania was created. Pennsylvania Dutch, one of the most recognizable of all German-American communities, developed out of a mispronunciation of the word 'Deutsch.' The vast majority of German-American immigrants, however, arrived during the Industrial Revolution when Germany was experiencing severe social, economic and political troubles, including tyrants, unemployment and famine.
