This research paper: This 11 page report discusses the impact and influence of interest groups in the functions of government in the United States. Recently, it has appeared that the “people” with the best representation in the government are not individual people at all but the special interest groups that ostensibly position themselves to “represent” the thinking of the people. Bargaining groups or interests control the decisions of government and the end result is the creation of laws that apportion out the true power of the state to interest groups with the power and organization to influence government agencies, neglecting people who do not belong to such groups, and maintaining the privileges of those who do. Bibliography lists 10 sources.
